A Flicker
The clank from kitchen,
noticeable yet chaotic
flows along the billowing vapour,
The rush of aroma makes us drool
in gargantuan expectation—
It is anger and protest
against all the neglect,
Everybody–all and sundry
have right to be hungry,
except a few tastemakers, for eternity.
Fiery and feverish all through,
All their ailments are just skin-deep,
A few careless drops of the melted sweat
are all that makes up the dish—
so special, so exotic.
The lingering odour of sweat and spice
into the lazy hours of soporific
quietude
fails to make any sense,
The loose-braided semicolon
finally snores in expectation.
